Juventino Meza, A Journey of Immigration and A Voice of Advocacy, will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 3 in person in the lower level community room or virtually on the library Facebook and YouTube.
Juventino Meza moved to the United States at the age of fifteen. In high school he was undocumented and believed college was not an option for him. In 2013, Juve played a critical role in building a coalition to get President Obama to create Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) in 2012 and pass the Minnesota Dream/Prosperity Act in 2013. Today, Juve is the only undocumented Minnesotan appointed to a MN State Board and one of few undocumented Minnesotans to obtain a law degree.
Part II in the series is Marc Prokosch, who will speak on Thursday, Oct 17 at 6:30 p.m.
