Handouts: Political, commercial, and organizational handouts are allowed in the pamphlet racks at the library entrance. The library is not required to get information or literature from ‘both’ or ‘all’ sides of an issue to be represented in the pamphlet racks; the library merely provides a limited space for those interested in making such materials available. The library does not endorse or support the views of any pamphlet placed in the pamphlet racks.

Staff will periodically clear the racks of outdated and older materials. No organization or individual will be granted permanent display status.

Posters: Political posters are not allowed.

Displays: Political displays are not allowed.

Petitioning and Solicitation: Any kind of petitioning and/or solicitation is allowed outside of the library building only. The signature-gatherers may stand by the entrance/exit doors and have the right to ask customers to stop and chat or to sign a petition, but they may not impede public access to the building or interfere with use of the building (such as through excessive noise or threatening behavior.) Tables and chairs are not allowed.

Meeting room use: Meeting rooms may be used for political purposes under the same conditions as any other group per the meeting room policies. Use of the library meeting rooms does not imply endorsement by the library staff or Trustees of the viewpoints presented. No admission fee, registration fee, donation, or monetary solicitation may be sought from meeting attendees.
