In 1912, local women representing the Improvement League, the Tuesday Club, and the Home Culture Club succeeded in adding a “Ladies’ Rest Room” to the new City Hall construction. This became the foundation of the future River Falls Public Library.
Today, over 100 years after River Falls women first started advocating for their right to a dignified location to rest, feed their children and gain access to knowledge, we would like to invite you to participate in the creation of a Comfort Room- a sanctuary for children who need a moment away from a busy or overstimulating environment. Dimmable lights, a comfortable chair, noise cancelling headphones, a weighted blanket, sensory and fidget toys will be available to them. It will also be a place for nursing mothers and parents to feed their babies.
⭐️Between now and December 31st, we’re recognizing all $50 donations from individuals and $500 donations from groups in honor of the River Falls Public Library’s Founding Mothers with your name or your group’s name listed on a mounted poster outside the Library’s new Comfort Room.
