Grant Award

The River Falls Public Library has secured a grant of over $4 million from the State of Wisconsin’s Department of Administration under the Flexible Facilities Program. This funding, aimed at enhancing digital connectivity for work, education, and healthcare, will support a major renovation of the library’s current building, originally constructed in 1997. The three-year planning process has focused on redesigning and reconfiguring existing spaces rather than expanding the facility.

The remodel will introduce flexible, efficient, and sustainable areas tailored to patrons’ needs. Key updates include two additional group study rooms, a dedicated teen center, improved visibility from staff desks, and expanded offices and storage areas. The upgraded design will also feature cutting-edge technology, such as advanced equipment for programming and meeting rooms, as well as comfortable seating with integrated USB ports for enhanced connectivity.

Conceptual Images

  • When viewing the preliminary conceptual images, please keep in mind that details like color schemes, furniture, and lighting are just representations.
  • Interior decorating is not the focus at this stage. These elements will be refined later in the process.
  • Our goal right now is to give you a sense of how the space will flow and function, not the final look or decor. We appreciate your patience as we work toward creating a library that meets the needs of our community!
